Nicola

Nicola first came to yoga as a 17 year old dancer wanting to improve her flexibility, and soon found it becoming an increasingly important part of her life, helping her to deal with the high pressured environment of dance school and professional auditions. “There was a lot of external pressure and I was always striving for physical strength and unrealistic perfection. Yoga was the one movement outlet which enabled me to escape from this. I fell in love with the psychosomatic element”. Deciding to pursue yoga professionally “came naturally; I felt liberated when teaching it.”

Nowadays, Nicola likes to take a yin / yang approach to classes, integrating body, breath, expressive movement and meditative awareness; whatever best helps her clients feel reconnected with the body. “It’s such a great feeling to help people feel better and more resilient, and able to cope with their day-to-day lives.”

Kate

Kate first discovered yoga as a complete beginner almost a decade ago and slowly fell in love; “every time I went to a class I felt so much more refreshed and clear.” She began her long teacher training practice not long after, out of a desire to share the incredible benefits she had felt on a personal level.

Wanting to train with the best, Kate travelled to Bali for an intensive month of specialist training in Vinyasa, Restorative and breathwork techniques, as well as shamanic and healing elements - a unique fusion that few courses offer. This means Kate can now offer Peach clients not only a technical yoga practice, but also Shamanic Flow and Breathwork for a full mind, body and spirit experience. Even after nearly a decade’s worth of practice, Kate is incredibly passionate about her job. “To have someone tell me they feel better and had a beautiful hour makes my day!”

Matt

Matt first came to practise yoga 11 years ago when he was undertaking his BA in Acting. As part of his course, students would start the day with a simple sequence. Although he admits that in these early days “I couldn’t touch my toes and had terrible posture”, he quickly fell in love with yoga’s feel good effects, and realised the huge benefit it was having on his ability to stay grounded. He continued his practice after graduation, finding that yoga was “exactly what I needed” in the instability of the acting industry. In 2014 he decided to turn his passion into a profession, and completed his 200hrs yoga teacher training. Nowadays, he finds that routine brings “openness: mentally and physically" and a sense of community to his personal life.

Matt typically likes to blend the traditions of Hatha with the power of Vinyasa in his classes, and describes his style as direct and to the point. He has been teaching at some of London’s top studios for six years now. If you’re undecided whether to give yoga a go, Matt says “the one thing I find myself repeating to people who say they can’t practice yoga because they’re not flexible is ‘you never take up a new activity because you’ve already mastered it’. A simple interest and openness is all that’s needed.”

Michelle

Michelle went to her very first yoga class 15 years ago, and was amazed by this new way of moving that “felt like an internal massage”. She had always been into fitness, but fell in love with the spiritual nature and discipline of the practice as well as the community. She decided to become a teacher 8 years ago; “how could I not share this with others?”

A certified trainer of Bikram yoga, FG yoga, Yin and Vinyasa principles, Michelle will make you sweat in her classes, whilst keeping fun at the centre of the experience. She loves helping people to find their inner strength and excel at the technical practice, but finds that the most worthwhile moments are watching her students let go of their stresses in Savasana, and leaving the class lighter and brighter. “The only bad yoga class is the one you didn’t attend!”

Arianna

Arianna first tried a yoga class on a whim as a complete beginner, but fell in love with the practice. She eventually found herself training every day, so she decided to make it her life pursuit and began teaching five years ago. She is dedicated to deepening her knowledge of yoga, and has completed several specific inversion training courses as well as specific qualifications in vinyasa, yin and Ayurveda and chakra methodology. Arianna’s high level of knowledge means she is an in demand teacher, teaching classes as far abroad as Prague, Switzerland, Milan and Bali on top of her regular private slots in Kensington and Chelsea.

Arianna is just as happy teaching complete beginners to more experienced yogis. She especially loves arm balances and inversions, and is happy to break them down into drills to make this aspect of practice accessible for all students. “My goal for every class I teach is to see the students leave the class with a big smile feeling challenged, grounded and happy, with a sense of possibility to achieve anything they put their mind to”.

Christov

Originally hailing from France, Christov has been practicing yoga for more than twenty years. During his teacher training in Goa, Christov fell in love with Hatha Yoga especially, as it helps you to see your body as a “possibility, not a barrier". By including intention mindfulness and body scanning alongside breath work, Christov will help you smooth out the tensions and frictions of the body and develop a deep state of relaxation. The practice he has developed is particularly suited to help stressed out professionals, and is suitable for all levels, including complete beginners.

A former travelling DJ and musician, Christov also likes to integrate music in his sessions for a complete sensory experience. He says the best thing about being a yoga teacher is "helping people to reconnect with their bodies, to love them, appreciate them and see the infinite possibilities that they offer.” For Christov, “Yoga is a way of looking at and understanding the beauty of life within”.
